ABOUT CARINGTON'S WILD CHARACTER ADVENTURE®
Carington’s Adventure is a Positive Youth Development, group mentoring curriculum grounded in the Developmental Assets framework.
Highlights of Carington’s Wild Character Adventure®:
Carington’s Adventure is developmentally appropriate for grades K – 4. Components work together to guide character, asset, social-emotional, and academic development.
Student or adult mentors guide students through engaging activities that creatively pair animal mascots with the character traits being learned.
Reading, writing, science skill-builders, art, games, music, and connection opportunities with home, school, and community round-out the experience.
The CWCA curriculum is built on the key developmental assets of Caring, Responsibility, Interpersonal Competence, Personal Power, and Equality/Social Justice. Schools have affirmed its positive impact; emerging data are promising.
We welcome the opportunity to partner with you and your school, agency or group in character-building education!

More Than A Curriculum… It’s An Adventure!
Carington’s Leadership Adventure is a service-learning project grounded in the Developmental Assets/Developmental Relationships frameworks. It provides youth mentors with the opportunity to serve their school or community and enhance school climate and social-emotional learning using Carington’s Wild Character Adventure® (CWCA) activities.
The Leadership Adventure Service-Learning Guide grew from needs identified by staff and students in Erie’s Public Schools (EPS), Pennsylvania. EPS upper elementary and middle-school student mentors stepped-up to meet those needs, and the Leadership Adventure was born!
The Leadership Adventure offers both structure and flexibility. It gives an ongoing opportunity for student's voice while providing gentle and consistent guidance for building confidence and success in emerging leaders.

I learned if you work together, you can do anything!
'Awesome' was the word used by more than one of the teachers to describe the positive effect of this program.
